The conflict on the Korean Penninsula did not end with the armistice signed in 1953.  In order to determine what has been happening since then, you will be doing research to answer the questions below.  Use the recommended links to complete your research.

Name three specific and important instances of increased tensions between 1953 and 2012.

Describe life in South Korea.

Describe life in North Korea.

On the North Korea profile page, there are several stories on the death of Kim Jong-il.  Describe the events surrounding his death.
